A lovely Peruvian restaurant in London…
During my last visit to London, my friends and I got to visit one of London’s most interesting restaurants. Situated in King’s Road, Chicama is a very pretty little restaurant that serves Peruvian seafood. It was my first experience with Peruvian food, no regrets, wonderful food!
What I really loved about the restaurant, was the relaxed beach kind of like vibe! Chicama felt like a little wooden summer house situated on a Peruvian beach. The food was simply delicious! I wasn’t familiar with any dishes on the menu, as I said I’ve never tried a Peruvian restaurant before but it’s a tapas kind of place where you order lots of small dishes that are designed for sharing.
The tapioca marshmallows with ocopa sauce were very interesting, I also really liked the popcorn monkfish. For main dish, the blackened octopus and the tiger prawns were absolutely amazing. I also found the black rice to be very interesting, it was my first time trying black rice! Plus, look at how cute the plates are as well as the presentation of the food!
The also offer a great drinks menu; cocktails, wines, beers, freshly pressed juices and hot drinks. We went for cold pressed juices that were fresh and delicious.
For vegetarians, they offer quite a few different veg dishes. My favourite was the Aubergine with miso sauce, we also tried sprouted broccoli with a unique coffee and smoked chilli dip. If you’re a vegetarian and visiting Chicama, you might want to order the vegetarian feast where you get a selection of different veg dishes.
And finally, the service was great. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, the food arrived quickly and it was nothing but happy vibes in this restaurant!
